Updated Operations Manual for Air Quality Monitoring in Ontario
/The MOECC has the updated Operations Manual for Air Quality Monitoring in Ontario has been posted online.
Some of the key updates in the manual are:
- In the editing of continuous data, changes have been made to zero drift correction requirements (e.g. zero drift of 2 ppb for SO2, O3, NOx and TRS, and 3 µg/m3for suspended particulate matter require an offset adjustment) (Section 2.4.1)
- Exposure times for monthly samples (e.g. dustfall, fluoride lime candle, etc.) have been reduced to +/- 3 days from the previous +/- 5 days at the beginning and end of the month (Section 2.4.2 and Section 6.3.3)
- Further clarification is provided for running average exceedance reporting (Appendix 7)
As outlined in the Overview section of the manual, the 2008 manual will remain in effect until June 30, 2018 and the revised manual will come into effect on July 1, 2018. The MOECC encourages you, where possible, to adopt the changes in the manual prior to this date.
