As part of our team, you will support with coordinating and completing field work and will demonstrate an extensive knowledge of air emissions and dispersion modelling. WHAT WILL YOU DO?
As an Air Quality Specialist and Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring projects progress according to scope, schedule, and budget. With the guidance from the Project Manager, this role is responsible for the coordination of client deliverables and Cambium staff and assists in the completion of field work and the development of project plans including identifying the required internal and external resources. This role heavily involves the production of data calculations and emissions estimates, the preparation and writing of technical reports and other deliverables.

JOB DUTIES

  • Support with data collection, calculation methods, modelling, analysis, interpretation, and documentation of results and engineering opinions.

  • Participates in technical activities for air quality assessments including data collection/analysis and emission modelling.

  • Conduct atmospheric dispersion modelling using AERMOD, ASHRAE, CALPUFF, SCREEN3, and other atmospheric dispersion models.

  • Write and review technical reports that present air quality methodology, recommendations, mitigation requirements, and results.

  • Provide regular project updates to a Project Manager and ensure delays or issues in project delivery are communicated effectively.

  • Prepare and distribute project progress and performance reports to the project manager and client.

  • Provide assistance with ensuring costs are controlled and within the approved limits.

  • Address and resolve coordination issues and challenges that arise.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including plans, reports, and correspondence.

  • Ensure that all external parties involved adhere to the terms and conditions of the contracts.

  • Stay informed about relevant regulations and industry standards.

  • Ensure to complete project scope within general accordance with all applicable codes and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable engineering disciplines.

  • Registration with Professional Engineers Ontario as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) considered an asset

  • 3+ years of relevant project experience in environmental air engineering (preferably in consulting environment).

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, AERMOD, SCREEN3, CALPUFF, ASHRAE.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work independently as well as a part of a team.

  • Willingness for occasional travel within Ontario.

  • Valid Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle.

  • Ability to climb ladders, collect data from heights, and work/walk in rough/uneven ground features.
