Amendments to Ontario Regulation 455/09 and creation of a new services documents regulation under the Toxics Reduction Act, 2009

On April 24, 2018, the MOECC posted a decision on when facilities have to review their toxic reduction plans.  This will help to align the first two plan reviews with federal timelines and ensure facilities plan and report on current and relevant toxic substances. The MOECC also made a new regulation to provide more options to serve documents making it consistent with other regulations.

What Tamar has to say about receiving the Paul G. Complin Memorial Scholarship

Tamar Richards-Thomas is another one of our 2018 Scholarship Recipients.  See her letter below, where she expresses her sincere gratitude and thanks.

Dear Sir or Madame:

I express my sincere gratitude to everyone who organized and make AWMA Paul Complin Memorial Scholarship Dinner a great success. I am very humbled and elated to be one of the three recipients of the AWMA Paul Complin Memorial Scholarship 2018. This event was a great opportunity to network and meet other students in the field as well as professional members of AWMA.

Paul Complin who served selflessly to make this organization and award possible is an inspiration to all of us to continue his work. Paul Complin is also an inspiration to me because of his work related to air quality issues and its impact on the environment. This inspiration is another reason I want to continue my studies in the field of air quality as it relates to dust processes.

Again, thanks for your generosity and support. I am happy to be one of the recipients of the AWMA Paul Complin Memorial Scholarship 2018.

A note from one of our Scholarship Winners....

To Everyone on the AWMA board, and those involved in organizing and sponsoring the Paul G. Complin Memorial Scholarship,

Thank you as well for your generosity in hosting the event and providing prizes to award winners; I am extremely grateful for the recognition and I thank you for supporting my decisions to pursue a career in the environmental field.

As I transition back to working life after my masters I will be sure to take an active role in the AWMA; your organization embodies the motto of "lift as you climb" and I look forward to supporting the next generation of students and innovators.

Thank you once again for your support. I look forward to crossing paths in the future.
