R.J. Burnside & Associates Limited is currently seeking a Noise Specialist with a minimum of 5 years of experience to join our Air and Noise team in our Mississauga office.
As a member of the Air and Noise group, you will be involved in a variety of projects such as preparation of Acoustic Assessments for a wide range of municipal, industrial and commercial clients. Duties will also include project management, technical support and review of Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA) and Environmental and Activity Sector Registry (EASR) applications, and peer review of Environmental Assessments (EA’s).
More specifically, the position will involve carrying out the following tasks:
- Measure Noise sources;
- Modelling Noise propagation and comparing to criteria;
- Preparing Acoustic and Vibration Assessments for ECA, EASR, residential developments and EAs;
- Peer Review of Acoustic Assessments;
- Training others in the above; and Other duties as assigned,
Professional Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications
The following qualifications, experience and skills are required:
- Degree in Chemistry, Physics or related technical program
- Skills in acoustics/noise with some familiarity with air quality and air emissions
- Strong attention to detail, mathematical aptitude and an in depth understanding of MS Excel
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and function in a fast paced, multidisciplinary consulting environment
